At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

1. Identify different types of knit fabrics and their characteristics.
2. Discuss the basic construction techniques for knits.
3. Select patterns and suitable fabrics for tee-shirt construction.
4. Construct a basic tee-shirt and several variations.

Assignments:

1. Construct 3 tee-shirt samples: 1 with ribbing; one with a collar; one
variation of choice.
2. Calculate rib trims and elastics needed for projects.
3. Reading: 2-5 pages per week.
4. Quizzes (1-3).
