Associate Degree Requirements:

The major is one of several requirements students need to fulfill in order to be awarded the Associate Degree, the highest level of academic achievement recognized by Santa Rosa Junior College. Please note that all of the following requirements must be met in order for the degree to be conferred:

For all students admitted for the Fall 2009 term or any term thereafter, a grade of "C" or better, or "P" if the course is taken on a pass/no pass basis, is required for each course applied toward the major.

Description:

The Digital Filmmaking Certificate and major is designed to provide students with a foundation in film history and film form as well as in field production and postproduction techniques for digital filmmaking. The program will prepare students for broadcast and commercials, digital photography, documentary/biography production, legal and forensic video production, duplication and transfer, DVD authoring/mastering, videos for websites, online advertisements, public service announcements, industrial and corporate training videos, live internet streaming, live seminar capture, music videos, post production/editing, sports/performance events, media tech work on live events (including video production troubleshooting), and we video production/encoding.

Program Student Lerning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, the students will be able to:

  1. Produce a professional quality video project using industry standard non-linear editing software and audio editing software; and
  2. use DVD authoring software to create a project with multiple menus and special features for playback on the Web or DVD.
