Important Information About This Class:

This section will utilize Zoom for all online instruction. Active synchronous visible participation and attendance are required for the entire duration of all online class meetings.Students are required to have a suitable computer, reliable internet access with a minimum of 5 Mbps UPLOAD speed, a functioning webcam that has both video and audio capabilities, and the ability to print and scan 8-1/2 x 11-inch sheets of paper (at the instructor’s discretion, clear and legible digital photos may be an acceptable alternative to scanning). SRJC does have a first-come-first-served laptop loaner program through SRJC Student Services. Cell phones and the majority of tablets are not suitable for attending this course. Computers must be capable of running GIS, CADD and statistical analysis software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Please note that some applications may not run adequately on a Mac OS. If your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements for running applications such as, but not limited to, Autodesk Civil 3D 2024, ESRI ArcGIS Pro, Pix4d Mapper, and Star*Net version 12, or if you have a Mac or a Chromebook computer you may have difficulty completing assignments. OS emulators and boot partitions are not supported by the instructor, are the sole responsibility of the student, and will not be considered an excuse for not completing coursework. If your computer does not meet the above system requirements, you may attend open lab hours in Lindley 196 or remotely utilize SRJC’s Virtual Lab via VM Ware. To enable remote access, students will be required to successfully install a VMWare client application on their personal computer. Further details will be provided in the course syllabus when available and during the first class meeting.
