Important Information About This Class:

This is a blended section, meaning that the course meets on campus 3 hours per week on the specified days and times, and 0.5 hours are provided online via Canvas. This is a short course that begins 2 weeks late and does not meet during finals week; please refer to the schedule of classes for specific calendar information. While not required, there is an available 1-unit lab companion to this course, GEOL 1L. Together, these two courses fulfill the GE science requirement with lab. The lab covers material in a hands-on way, and delves more deeply into many of the topics, especially rock and mineral identification.
