Important Information About This Class:

This class is officially being offered online for weeks 1-4 and in-person for weeks 5-18. Portions of this course will utilize Zoom for instruction. Active synchronous visible participation and attendance are required for the entire duration of all in-person and/or online lectures and labs. Students are required to have a suitable computer, reliable internet access (a minimum of 5 Mbps UPLOAD speed is required if using Zoom or the Lindley 196 Virtual Lab. Also, a functioning webcam that has both video and audio capabilities, along with the ability to print and scan 8-1/2 x 11 inch sheets of paper (at the instructor’s discretion, clear and legible digital photos may be an acceptable alternative to scanning). SRJC does have a first-come-first-served laptop loaner program through SRJC Student Services. Cell phones and the majority of tablets are not suitable for this course. Computers must be capable of running a web browser, Zoom, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and AutoCAD Civil 3D 2025 (the minimum system requirements can be found here: here). Please note that Civil 3D will not run on a Mac OS directly. Use of Apple computers, the Apple OS, OS emulators and boot partitions are not supported, are the sole responsibility of the student, and will not be considered an excuse for not completing coursework. If your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements for running Civil 3D 2025, or if you have a Mac or a Microsoft Surface computer – you may utilize SRJC’s Virtual Lab (highly recommended) or open lab hours. Further details will be provided in the course syllabus when available and during the first class meeting.
