Description:
The PC Specialist Career Certificate program is an in-depth study of Windows-based computer systems including: programming, operating system, utilities, application software, hardware selection and installation, and telecommunications. Students are required to take some business English and Math courses as well as computer related courses.
The student may not necessarily be employed in the technology industry, but rather support and use personal computers in any field. There is an opportunity for advancement from the entry-level position as skills are developed through experience.

It is important that students who are completing an Associate Degree and desire to transfer to a four-year institution meet with a counselor to plan their lower division coursework. While many majors at SRJC are intended to align with lower division major preparation required by California public universities, specific lower-division major requirements vary among individual campuses.
