This program is currently inactive. Catalog rights may apply, see a counselor for more information.

Term Effective: Fall 2005

Description:

The Human Resource Administration Skills Certificate provides the opportunity to gain human resource administration skills for any organization. Students will also learn how to handle confidential information and participate in sensitive situations.

This certificate program prepares students to take the Human Resource Professional Exam. This is a Personnel Association of Sonoma County certification that is recognized by industry.

Within every organization in Sonoma County, at least one employee is responsible for basic human resource activities. These activities include payroll, maintenance of benefits, salary administration, tracking employee leaves, maintaining personnel files, and overall employment law compliance. Individuals with strong human resource administration skills are especially valued by business as employment law litigation increases.

More information about the Business Administration programs can be found at the Business Administration website.

Course Prerequisites and Advisories:

Courses in a program of study may have prerequisites or advisories; that is, courses that must or should be completed before taking that course. Please check for prerequisites or advisories by clicking on the course numbers in the Program Requirements section.

It is important that students who are completing an Associate Degree and desire to transfer to a four-year institution meet with a counselor to plan their lower division coursework. While many majors at SRJC are intended to align with lower division major preparation required by California public universities, specific lower-division major requirements vary among individual campuses. See a counselor, visit the Transfer Center, and check Guides For Transfer in Specific Majors, and ASSIST to review transfer preparation guides for specific schools and majors.

Notes:

HR 65.10 must be the final course taken in the sequence for this program.
