Supervising faculty will ensure that the topics of these Independent Studies courses will be college-level material and will include a critical thinking component as appropriate for each particular subject.

1. Reading and writing assignments of varying lengths will be assigned, such as: research papers, critical analysis papers, and/or reaction/reflection essays.
2. Additional assignments as determined by the instructor may include a demonstration of skills acquired through independent work or research.
