COURSE CONTENT

Student Learning Outcomes:
At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

1.  Identify all of the tasks legally delegated to the Registered Dental Assistant in a

    specialty practice and a general practice at the beginner level.

2.  Identify skills necessary to participate as a member of a dental team and

     contribute to the comfort and safety of patients.

3.  Demonstrate ethical behavior and professionalism as defined in the American Dental

    Assistants Association (ADAA) Code of Ethics.

Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

1. Identify ethics and professionalism as a member of the dental healthcare team.

2. Explain the functions of a chairside dental assistant in both general and specialty dental

    practices.

3. Prepare for the California Registered Dental Assistant examinations.
